Anna returns to Adelaide to perform once again with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra under their new Chief Conductor Mark Wigglesworth.
“Chief Conductor Mark Wigglesworth will lead us through an unmissable performance of Mozart’s Requiem. This monumental work unfolds with breathtaking intensity, as the full orchestra and chorus come together in a grand choral embrace. The evening opens with Strauss’s Metamorphosen, a song like work for solo strings alone, in which soaring melodies reflect a nostalgia for the passion of the 19th century before a conclusion that touches on the tragedies of the 20th. We are urged to remember our history if we seek to influence our future.”
Program to include

“Beginning at sunset, this vivid program of three brilliant chamber pieces captures the sensuous depth and drama of night, directed here by our Concertmaster Andrew Haveron, alongside mezzo soprano Anna Dowsley.
Mozart’s Serenata Notturna is classically elegant and entertaining. And Respighi's rare jewel Il Tramonto is based on a poem full of changing colours, moods and delicate harmonies. Just like the sunsets for which it is named.
Make sure you’re part of this intriguing showcase of extraordinary music and talent at the City Recital Hall.”

Join mezzo-soprano Anna Dowsley and pianist Michael Curtain for an evening of storytelling over the piano, inspire by the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer William Bolcom, devised by Paul Kildea and Ian Dickson, and written and directed by Constantine Costi.
William Bolcom, who just celebrated his 85th birthday, occupies a unique place in the repertoire. Not quite art song, not quite cabaret, his settings of Arnold Weinstein’s deliciously dry lyrics continue a grand tradition stretching from Schubert to Sondheim of making words dance, fly and sing.
Hear some of their best-loved songs, from Amor to At the last lousy moments of love, woven into a poignant meditation on life, love and living in the moment.
